There are no magic bullets………….

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but lately the derp reference defensive ammunition choices has gotten off the charts again.

There are no magic bullets. One can not beat physics. It sucks, but that’s the reality of life.  People trying to sell you magic bullets want your money, and they are selling you snake oil to get it.

Glaring examples are the various high velocity/light for caliber, typically fragmenting, bullets on the market.
If they have to make up names like “nytrillium” then the maker is a complete sham.
One very glaring example was the “blended metal technologies” bullets, which were in no way blended metals or high tech.

For some education on what are valid choices in defensive or duty ammunition, the old Firearms Tactical site is still as valid as it ever was.

The ammunition forum at Pistol Forums is also a winner, big time.

I’m not a big fan of AR15.com, but this page is VERY good; http://www.ar15.com/ammo/project/Self_Defense_Ammo_FAQ/
